Cotton BCI

The Better Cotton Initiative (BCI), an international cotton production standards system, was established in 2005 to improve the sustainability of cotton cultivation and production by providing more sustainable farming practices for cotton farmers, the environment and the entire industry supply chain. The Better Cotton standards are used in 24 countries and aim to achieve more natural production practices by educating farmers on lighter farming practices that reduce chemical use and conserve water.

The BCI aims to make global cotton production better for cotton growers, the growing environment and the future of the industry. The initiative brings together people and organisations across the cotton sector, from field to store, to promote measurable and continuous progress for the environment, farmers and the industries that produce cotton.
