The outer material of the Pihla oven mitt is 100% rib weave cotton, which is firm and rather thick. The wadded filling is flexible and heat resistant. The handy Easy-Care treatment makes the fabric easier to iron after washing. Finlayson’s Pihla oven mitts have a CE marking, which means that they have been tested for adequate protection against contact heat.

 The Pihla oven mitt has also been granted the STANDARD 100 by OEKO-TEX certificate, indicating that the product does not contain harmful chemicals and is safe to use.

The oven mitt and kettle holder have been designed to protect a person's hand from hot dishes and to prevent any burns when cooking either on the stove or in the oven in a home environment. The products are not designed to protect from open flame.
