At Finlayson, we decided to really put our hearts into reimagining our collection of Moomin towels. We created storylines between the pairs of hand towels and bath towels, gave the original illustrations more room to shine and adjusted the colours to bring them closer to the original tones used by Tove Jansson. What’s more, we also changed the material: all Moomin towels are now made of 100% GOTS-certified organic cotton!

The illustration for the Groke hand towel comes from the Moomin comic strip. The Groke is a dark, ominous creature whose frightening presence scares everyone wherever she goes. Loneliness has made the Groke so cold that she freezes everything around her. In the book Moominland Midwinter, even a bonfire made by the inhabitants of Moominvalley is extinguished when the Groke sits on it when she wants to warm herself. However, the Groke’s story has a happy ending. In the story, Moominpappa at Sea, Moomintroll and the Groke find a kind of harmony, making the Groke grow warmer.

The Jacquard-woven Groke bath towel is durable yarn-dyed quality. The quality of the towel is the result of lengthy product development. The fine plied yarn is combined with a carefully thought-out weave structure, and all features are refined to perfection. The end result is exactly the right feel.

The towel’s area weight is 460m2. Towels with a weight of 400–500 g/m2 are durable and ideal for daily use. They also dry relatively quickly and have excellent absorbency.

Wash with like coloured terry products and in a full load. To ensure the product remains as absorbent as possible, do not use fabric conditioner. Shrinkage max 8%. Washing recommended before using the product.
