Old Jeans denim potholders are a sustainable way of bringing some cool and casual style to your kitchen. The potholder’s practical, stitched groove running diagonally from corner to corner ensures a better grip and protects your hands from hot kitchenware. Finlayson’s potholders and oven gloves also have a CE marking, which means that they have been tested for adequate protection against contact heat.
The products in our Old Jeans collection are made by pulverising old denim jeans and turning them into spun cotton to create entirely new consumer products. As a rule, our Old Jeans products are not dyed. Their colour comes from the jeans they are made from. Unlike the rest of the collection, Old Jeans kitchen products are dyed and they also include rayon to give them a deeper denim blue tone. Attractive stitching adds to the jeans-like style of these oven gloves.
The outer material of Old Jeans potholders is twill weave, which is also used in jeans. The material is 50% rayon, 25% recycled denim and 25% Lyocell Tencel™. The wadded filling made from flexible and heat-resistant mixed fibres. The filling is 95% cotton and 5% other fibres. The set contains two potholders.

The oven mitts and potholders are intended to protect the user’s hands from heat of dishes, and potential burns in household conditions, when cooking on the stove or in the oven. These pads are beautiful, useful and will stand the test of time. I purchased these hot pads to replace another pair I had purchased from Finlayson years ago! I appreciate the Finlayson quality and durability, but I love the creativity of the textile patterns and material as well.
